Circumstances Requiring Deregistration

A business must undergo deregistration under the following circumstances:

  • Relocating the business to another city
  • Discontinuing business operations
  • Exiting from a partnership, such as a GbR (civil law partnership) or OHG (general partnership)

Required Documentation

To initiate the deregistration process online, the following documents and information are essential:

  • Access to the Business Service Portal (WSP.NRW), including a service account, corporate account, or BUND ID
  • Identification documents when registering via a service account

For on-site deregistration, you will need the following:

  • The business deregistration form
  • Your valid ID card, or, if applicable, your residence permit
  • If available, the certificate of receipt of the trade registration ("Commercial Certificate")

It is important to note that the tax office, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Chamber of Crafts, along with the relevant professional association, will be automatically notified of your trade deregistration.

Cost of Deregistration

In the state of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), trade deregistration is typically exempt from any charges.
